Enter up to 10 blood glucose readings to calculate your average and standard deviation - key metrics for understanding your day-to-day blood sugar control.
Educational estimator only - not medical advice.
Normal range: 70-99 mg/dL fasting * Post-meal target: under 140 mg/dL
Enter at least one blood glucose reading above to see your average.
This calculator computes the arithmetic mean (average) and standard deviation of your entered blood glucose readings:
Standard deviation reveals how much your glucose varies. A lower SD means more consistent control. Clinical guidelines suggest targeting an SD below one-third of your mean glucose.
Limitations: A spot average from a handful of readings differs from a CGM-based or lab-measured average. More readings spread across different times of day give a more representative picture.
Zone thresholds are based on general post-meal glucose targets. Individual targets may differ - always follow your healthcare provider's guidance.
Discover why blood sugar averages are just one piece of the puzzle - and how patterns, variability, and time-in-range give you the full picture. Covered in depth in the FOD Starter Guide.
