Enter your average blood glucose above to see your estimated HbA1c.

This calculator uses the DCCT (Diabetes Control and Complications Trial) formula, the most widely used equation for estimating HbA1c from average blood glucose:

HbA1c (%) = (Average Glucose mg/dL + 46.7) / 28.7

For mmol/L values, the input is first converted to mg/dL using: mmol/L x 18.018.

HbA1c reflects the average percentage of hemoglobin molecules in your red blood cells that have glucose attached. Because red blood cells live roughly 90 days, it provides a rolling 2-3 month picture of blood sugar control - making it the standard clinical marker for diabetes management.

Note: This is an estimated HbA1c. Lab-measured results may differ due to factors such as hemoglobin variants, recent illness, or measurement timing.
